Who We Are
Editor in Chief
With the ear of a trained therapist and the eye of an experienced editor, Jaclyn DeVore promises to help your writing shine.
She has 14 years of diverse, professional editing experience and loves to help people through the process of bringing their writing to its highest potential.
Jaclyn holds an Associate of Arts degree in English Composition from Florida State University, a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Policy, and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgia State University. She also worked as a graduate research and teaching assistant at the McGovern Brain Institute at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Tufts University, where she studied language and visual processing, urban policy and design, and the human stress response. Over the decade that Jaclyn pursued advanced education, she also served in a number of editorial roles—from working on the school paper to managing an academic journal.
After collecting a handful of degrees and working as a trauma therapist, Jaclyn decided to accept that she was born to be a full-time editor. She started DeVore Editorial, home of Manuscript Therapy℠, her proven process for better editing that combined her expertise as both an editor and a therapist.
When she’s not editing (or reading or writing, usually about editing), Jaclyn is hanging out with her family, practicing Ashtanga yoga, or doing crossword puzzles.
Though her clients and their works are contractually confidential, you can read select testimonials here.
